The Counseling Center is dedicated to promoting student success.
The Counseling Center is dedicated to promoting student success by helping students develop their potential– intellectually, socially, ethically, emotionally and physically.
The Coordinator of Counseling 服务 strives to provide an environment of encouragement and support in which students can develop success-oriented beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that promote a positive experience at Coahoma 社区 College and beyond.
服务 include 危机 management, character education, educational/career planning, individual and group counseling, referrals, workshops and responding to student life 危机.

The Counseling Center is located in the Student Affairs Multi-Complex Center.
The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 和周五
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
学生 can meet with the counselor by walk-ins, scheduling at http://calendly.com/tigercounselingservices or by calling the office at
662-621-4858 or mobile at 662-645-9500.
教师 and 工作人员 are encouraged to make referrals at any time.
Mental Health/Wellness Resource Assistants are available in the evenings.

Exceptions to Confidentiality
- If there is a risk of imminent harm to your student or another person (e.g.严肃的 intent to commit suicide or homicide), counselors have a legal and ethical duty to 保护生命. Counselors may contact police and psychiatric hospitalization services to protect your student and others from suicidal or homicidal intent. 请注意 that counselors will collaborate with your student to implement safety plans other than police intervention or psychiatric hospitalization if possible. Police intervention and psychiatric hospitalization are used only when absolutely necessary.
- If counselors are provided evidence that a child, elderly person, cognitively disabled, or physically disabled person is being abused or neglected, it will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Counselors must release information when a court of law orders them to do so.
- Counselors take steps to ensure that the information released to a court of law is absolutely necessary for the legal process, and whenever possible, avoid releasing information that a client deems personally damaging.
- If your student experiences a medical 危机 while at Student Counseling 服务, counselors may provide necessary medical information (e.g., about medications) to medical personnel as appropriate for your student's safety.
